The NDIS World Conference - Disability in the 21st Century was held at the Brisbane Conference and Exhibition Centre from 27-29 October and proved to be a big success.
The conference was held by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and brought together 1500 people with disabilities, service providers, IT professionals and companies to share in the technology revolution in disability services.
NICSS was pleased to take part in the conference, providing the NDIA with 20 interpreters over the three days. Deaf people could participate in and learn about the technological advancements that could improve their lives.
The Apple Accessibility House proved to be popular - a purpose-built interactive exhibit which showcased the latest 'accessible' technologies. The house was separated into zones and was able to demonstrate how assistive devices, apps and accessories could help people with a disability do more around the home. NICSS interpreters were on hand to help Deaf people learn and experience the Apple technology.
More than 100 service providers were represented, with NICSS exhibition stand being voted as the "The most informative trade stand" by participants on Day One.
NICSS was so pleased to be part of this groundbreaking event and welcome you to visit the NDIS New World Conference website to learn more.
