Do you require a sign language interpreter? NICSS provides interpreters to sign language users for a range of services. These services are not free. A fee is charged.
Some examples of the services where your service provider can book a NICSS interpreter are:
If your professional or government service provider is paying for the interpreter, they must make the booking for you.
If your appointment is employment related, you may be eligible for funding through JobAccess. Contact JobAccess on 1800 464 800 or www.jobaccess.gov.au.
The Federal Government has a new way of paying for interpreting services. The new name is National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
